Cumberland, located north of Portland, is a community that has a rich farming history though the number of working farms has dwindled. The town is most known for The Cumberland Fair, a large agricultural fair that has occurred every September since 1868.
Cumberland real estate has experienced a solid demand in part due to its location relative to Falmouth and Yarmouth. All three towns boast strong school systems, and all have rural areas as well as waterfront real estate with Cumberland Foreside being the prominent area. Cumberland homes range from affordable first time home buyer homes to multiple acre rural wooded properties to waterfront properties along Cumberland Foreside and Route 88.
